Play Day festivities began with 2009 La Pine Rodeo Queen and newly selected 2010 Deschutes County Fair & Rodeo Queen Jenna Jacobsen presenting the flag while Scott sang the national anthem.

Play Day, hosted by La Pine Rodeo Association and Presenting Sponsor Purina Mills, saw 58 enthusiastic riders of all ages at this year’s event held Saturday, September 12th at the rodeo arena grounds in La Pine.  This 6th annual Fall Play Day event was the association’s most successful Play Day fundraiser.

Announcers Scott Morrison and Kathy DeBone kept the games -- Pole Bending, Musical Tires, Pony Express, and Barrel Racing – lively and FUN.  Five divisions comprised of Outlaws, Buckaroos, Rough Riders, Vaqueros and Viejos competed for prizes and awards.  Play Day festivities began with 2009 La Pine Rodeo Queen and newly selected Deschutes County Fair & Rodeo Queen Jenna Jacobsen presenting the flag while Scott sang the national anthem.  Invocation was given by Cheri Stark. 

The Sportsmanship Award, a custom leather breast collar denoting this year’s Fall Play Day, created and donated by Stark’s Custom Saddles and sponsored by the rodeo association, was presented to Cindy Cronin of Ghost Rock Ranch, La Pine.  The recipient of this award is chosen by votes cast by volunteers, riders and members and is given to the participant who demonstrates the spirit of friendship, goodwill and horsemanship.  Congratulations, Cindy!
