Join us on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the La Pine Rodeo Grounds for a day of comraderie and fun! 2008 marks the fifth year of La Pines Play Day. Originally started by the La Pine Hoofbeats, and adopted by the La Pine Rodeo Association in 2007, the Play Day continues to get bigger and better! As always this Play Day is known for its fun and friendliness, all are welcome young, old, amateurs, beginners and seasoned riders, there is something in it for everyone!

This year will feature our own La Pine Rodeo Queen Kristen Russell. Sadly , Kristens reign will be coming to an end, so there will be La Pine Rodeo Queen registration packets available at the Play Day.

Once again, George Stark is designing one of his beautiful custom breast collars for this years Sportsmanship Award Winner.

La Pine Rodeo Association 2007 PlayDay a Big Hit!

Play Day 2007, hosted by La Pine Rodeo Association, saw 46 enthusiastic participants of all ages at this year’s event held Saturday, September 8th at the rodeo arena grounds in La Pine. 

Announcers Larry Dudley and Scott Morrison kept the games -- Pole Bending, Keyhole, String Team, Barrel Racing and Egg in Spoon – lively and FUN.  Four age divisions comprised of Buckaroos, Rough Riders, Vaqueros and Viejos competed for prizes and awards.  Although the majority of participants were local, one father and daughter team hailed from Mt. Vernon, Oregon.  Justin Deming was shopping at Saddle Up in Bend a few weeks ago and noticed the flyer regarding Play Day.  He and his daughter, Hannah, drove 3+ hours to join the fun in La Pine!

The Sportsmanship Award, a leather breast collar denoting this year’s Play Day, donated by Stark’s Saddlery and sponsored by the rodeo association, was presented to Violet Wilson of Silver Lake.
